These Grinch Oreos are a festive twist on a classic favorite, featuring red velvet cookies coated in light green candy melts and topped with charming heart sprinkles. Easy to make and perfect for holiday gatherings, they bring joy and flavor to any occasion!
Ingredients
- light green candy melts – 10 ounces
- red velvet oreos – 12.2 ounces
- red heart sprinkles – 24 pieces
- dark green sanding sugar – 1 tablespoon (optional)
Instructions
- Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside. Reserve ½ cup of the light green candy melts for drizzling at the end.
- Melt the remaining candy melts in a double boiler over low heat, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. Alternatively, use the microwave in 30-second intervals.
- Dip one Red Velvet Oreo into the melted candy melts using a fork. Tap the fork against the bowl's edge to remove excess coating.
- Place the dipped cookie onto the prepared baking tray and repeat with the remaining Oreos.
- Put the reserved ½ cup of candy melts in a microwave-safe piping bag. Melt on low power, massaging the bag every 60 seconds until fluid.
- Snip a small piece off the piping bag's tip. Drizzle the candy melts over the dipped Oreos in a zig-zag motion.
- Immediately sprinkle each cookie with a red heart decoration and optional dark green sanding sugar.
- Let the chocolate set completely at room temperature or refrigerate briefly before serving.
Notes
Ensure the candy melts are completely melted for a smooth coating.
Adding the sanding sugar is optional, but it gives an extra festive touch!
