Description

Ingredients

  • 14 (5–6 oz) filet mignon steaks
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly cracked black pepper
  • avocado oil spray, or another high-smoke-point oil for greasing the air fryer basket

Instructions

  • Season the steaks by patting them dry and generously coating all sides with salt and black pepper. Allow them to reach room temperature for 10–20 minutes for more even cooking.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F and lightly grease the basket with avocado oil spray.
  • Place the filets in the basket and cook for 10–15 minutes, flipping halfway through if desired, until the internal temperature reaches 135°F for medium-rare, or longer based on your preference.
  • For an optional garlic butter, mix together 2 tablespoons of softened butter, ½ teaspoon of garlic powder, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl. Spoon over the steaks right after they rest to let it melt on top.
  • Allow the steaks to rest for 5 minutes before slicing to retain their juices.

Notes

Steaks should be brought to room temperature for the best cooking results.
Adjust cooking time if you prefer steaks cooked more than medium-rare.
Use a meat thermometer to check doneness accurately.
