Description

These make ahead crockpot mashed potatoes are a perfect side dish for any meal. Featuring tender potatoes, garlic, and creamy flavors, they’re easy to prepare and guaranteed to delight any palate. Perfect for busy weeknights or festive gatherings!


Ingredients

  • Potatoes
  • Garlic cloves
  • Chicken broth
  • Sour cream
  • Butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Oregano
  • Milk

Instructions

  1. Wash the potatoes and add them with skin to a large crock pot.
  2. Add garlic cloves (whole) and chicken broth to the pot.
  3. Cook on high for 3-4 hours, or on low for 4-5 hours, until the potatoes are fork-tender.
  4. Add sour cream, butter, salt, pepper, and oregano to the potatoes.
  5. Mash the potatoes using a potato masher, incorporating the butter, sour cream, and seasonings as you go.
  6. Stir in milk until the mashed potatoes reach your desired consistency.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper as necessary.

Notes

Feel free to substitute vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
These mashed potatoes can be kept warm in the crockpot on the ‘keep warm’ setting for several hours.
You can make these potatoes a day ahead and reheat them before serving.
