  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Dr Pepper (not diet)

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon cold water

Instructions

  • Arrange the pork chops in a slow cooker and season with salt and pepper.
  • Add sliced onion and minced garlic on top of the chops.
  • In a bowl, whisk together Dr Pepper, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the pork chops, ensuring they are well coated.
  • Cover and cook on Low for 6 hours or High for 3 hours until tender.
  • Mix cornstarch with cold water and add to slow cooker to thicken the sauce, cooking on High for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Serve with freshly chopped parsley on top and enjoy!

Notes

Store the pork chops in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
For a healthier option, you can use gluten-free BBQ sauce and skip the sugar.
