This Shrimp Alfredo Garlic Bread offers a delightful blend of creamy Alfredo sauce, delicious shrimp, and rich cheeses. It’s an easy, homemade dish perfect for a quick dinner or as a comforting appetizer, bound to satisfy your cravings with every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf italian bread, sliced lengthwise
  • ½ cup (1 stick / 113 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 pound (31 to 35 per pound) medium shrimp, peeled, deveined, tails removed
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced (about ½ cup)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 2 cups (476 g) heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups (200 g) parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup (113 g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup (113 g) white cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine the softened butter with garlic salt until well blended, and spread this mixture onto the sliced bread.
  3. Arrange the bread on the prepared baking sheet, cut side up, and set it aside.
  4. In a skillet, heat olive oil and additional butter over medium heat before adding the diced onion, sautéing until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in the minced garlic, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
  6. Add the shrimp, season with kosher salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes, and cook until the shrimp turns pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Reduce heat and pour in the heavy whipping cream, stirring to combine, then add the grated parmesan and mix until melted and creamy.
  8. Remove from heat and top the bread with the shrimp Alfredo mixture, then sprinkle with shredded mozzarella and white cheddar.
  9. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the cheeses are bubbly and golden.
  10. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Feel free to customize the cheeses according to your preference.
For extra flavor, grill the bread before adding the Alfredo mixture.
This dish can also be prepared in smaller portions for an appetizer.
