Ingredients

  • Cream Cheese (6 oz / 170 g)
  • Granulated White Sugar (3 tbsp + 1 cup + 1/4 cup)
  • Vanilla Extract (1/2 tsp + 2 tsp)
  • Fresh Strawberries (12 oz / 340 g)
  • All-Purpose Flour (2 3/4 cups / 344 g)
  • Baking Powder (1/2 tsp)
  • Baking Soda (1/2 tsp)
  • Salt (1/2 tsp)
  • Unsalted Butter (1 cup / 227 g)
  • Egg (1)
  • Granulated Sugar for Rolling (1/4 cup)

Instructions

  • Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until fluffy; scoop into discs and freeze.
  • Cook strawberries and sugar in a pot until thickened to a jam.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare baking sheets.
  • Cream softened butter with sugar until fluffy.
  • Mix in egg and vanilla until pale and fluffy.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients gently.
  • Layer dough and jam for marbling.
