Description
These Valentine Chocolate Covered Pretzels for kids combine sweet chocolate with crunchy pretzels for a delightful treat. Simple to make and perfect for sharing, this recipe has everything you need for a quick dessert that’s fun and delicious!
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces (226g) semi-sweet or white chocolate, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil or coconut oil
- 4 cups pretzels
- optional: sprinkles for topping
Instructions
- Prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper and set aside.
- Melt the chocolate and oil using either a double boiler or microwave. If using a microwave, combine them in a medium heat-proof bowl and microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between until fully melted and smooth.
- Dip each pretzel into the melted chocolate, then lift it out using a fork. Tap the fork against the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate. Use a toothpick to slide the pretzel onto the prepared baking sheet. Add sprinkles on top if desired while the chocolate is wet.
- Chill the pretzels in the refrigerator to set the chocolate for about 20–30 minutes. Once the chocolate has hardened, store the pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
Feel free to add your favorite toppings like nuts or additional sprinkles for extra flavor.
Ensure the chocolate is tempered to avoid cracking upon setting.
