Description

BBQ Chicken Thighs deliver irresistible flavor with simple preparation. These juicy thighs are marinated in a blend of spices and topped with homemade BBQ sauce, making them an ideal choice for a quick dinner that everyone will love.


Ingredients

  • 2.5 lbs chicken thighs boneless skinless
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • 3 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 cup homemade southern bbq sauce

Instructions

  1. Place chicken thighs in a large bowl and add brown sugar, kosher salt, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, and avocado oil. Mix well and marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Remove the chicken from the fridge 30 minutes before grilling.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Add the chicken thighs to the grill, lowering the heat to medium. Cover and cook for a few minutes on each side until charred and grill marks appear.
  5. When the chicken is nearly cooked through, baste both sides with BBQ sauce and move to indirect heat to finish cooking and absorb the sauce.
  6. Once the internal temperature reaches 175-190°F for dark meat (or 165°F for white meat), remove the chicken from the grill and serve with additional BBQ sauce.

Notes

Marinating the chicken overnight enhances the flavor.
Adjust the spice level by varying the amount of chili powder.
Serve with your favorite sides for a complete meal.
