Ingredients
- Domino® Golden Sugar (100 grams)
- Egg White Powder (4 grams, optional)
- Egg Whites (100 grams)
- Almond Flour (105 grams)
- Domino® Powdered Sugar (105 grams + 1 1/2 cups [187 grams])
- Meringue Powder (1 tbsp)
- Water (4 tbsp)
- Gel Food Coloring (2 drops black, 1 drop yellow)
- All-Purpose Flour (1/2 cup, 63 grams)
- Unsalted Butter (1/2 cup, 113 grams)
- Domino® Golden Sugar (1/4 cup, 50 grams)
- Vanilla Extract (1 tsp)
- Almond Extract (1/8 tsp)
- Milk or Heavy Cream (1/2 tbsp)
- Desiccated Coconut (1/4 cup, 50 grams)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300ºF and prepare baking sheets.
- Sift almond flour and powdered sugar together.
- Whisk together sugar, egg white powder, and egg whites over simmering water until smooth.
- Whip meringue until stiff peaks form and glossy.
- Fold dry mixture into meringue and add gel food coloring.
- Pipe macaron shells onto baking sheets and let rest.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until firm.
- Cool and prepare royal icing for decorating.
- Make buttercream filling and assemble macarons.

Macarons can be stored at room temperature for up to 5 days.
For gluten-free options, substitute almond flour with a nut-free blend.
