Description

Enjoy a comforting bowl of French Onion Pasta, rich with caramelized onions, creamy sauce, and melted Parmesan—ideal for quick, cozy dinners or gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 pound shell pasta
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over low heat.
  • Add onions and salt, cooking for 25-30 minutes until caramelized.
  • Stir in minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in remaining beef broth, add shell pasta and thyme, and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Mix in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until creamy and heated through.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute beef broth with vegetable stock.
Feel free to mix in different types of pasta if preferred.
