- 6 to 12 peperoncini peppers
- 3 tablespoons liquid from the jar
- 1 (1-oz) packet au jus gravy mix
- 1 (1-oz) packet ranch dressing mix
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions
- Spray a 5 or 6 quart slow cooker with cooking spray and prepare your ingredients.
- Pat the chicken dry with paper towels, then lay it in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Place the desired number of peperoncini peppers around the chicken, adding a few tablespoons of the jar's liquid for extra flavor.
- Sprinkle the au jus gravy mix and ranch dressing mix evenly over the chicken.
- Cut the butter into tablespoons and place on top of the seasoned chicken.
- Cover and cook on HIGH for 2.5 to 4 hours or on LOW for 6-8 hours, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Transfer the chicken to a cutting board, let it rest for 10 minutes, then use two forks to pull it into chunks.
- Return the chicken to the sauce in the slow cooker and stir to let it soak up the flavors before serving.
