Description

Savor the irresistible flavor of Parmesan Crusted Chicken, a quick and easy dish featuring tender chicken breasts topped with melted cheeses and crunchy breadcrumbs, making it perfect for a delightful homemade meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts cut in half lengthwise
  • ¾ cup grated parmesan cheese divided
  • ½ cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter melted and divided
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill pan over medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, combine 4 tablespoons melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture over each chicken breast.
  3. Cook the chicken breasts on the grill pan for 3-4 minutes, then flip them over.
  4. In a medium bowl, mix together ½ cup Parmesan cheese and provolone cheese, and set aside.
  5. Top each chicken breast with the cheese mixture and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. Transfer the chicken to a baking sheet lined with foil.
  7. Preheat your oven’s broiler to high.
  8. In another bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs with the remaining ¼ cup Parmesan cheese and 2 tablespoons melted butter. Sprinkle over each chicken breast.
  9. Broil the chicken for 1-2 minutes until the breadcrumbs are golden, watching closely to prevent burning.
  10. Remove the chicken from the broiler and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding Italian herbs to the cheese mixture.
Serve with a fresh salad or steamed vegetables for a balanced meal.
You can substitute chicken thighs for breasts if preferred.
