This Strawberry Pretzel Salad is a delightful combination of salty and sweet flavors with a creamy layer and fresh strawberries. Perfect for potlucks and simple gatherings, it’s made with crushed pretzels, cream cheese, and strawberry gelatin for an irresistible dessert.

- 2 cups small salted pretzels, crushed
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup salted butter, melted
- 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 6 oz strawberry flavored gelatin
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 lb fresh strawberries, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and gather all ingredients.
- In a food processor, pulse the crushed pretzels and brown sugar until combined but still chunky.
- Add the melted butter and pulse a few more times until the mixture is evenly moistened.
- Press the crust mixture firmly into the bottom of a parchment-lined 8×8 baking dish and bake for 10 minutes until golden brown. Let cool completely.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour the heavy cream into the cream cheese mixture and beat until fully combined. Spread evenly over the cooled pretzel crust and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- In a medium bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin powder in boiling water and refrigerate until thickened, about 30 minutes.
- Fold sliced strawberries into the thickened gelatin and pour over the cream cheese layer.
- Chill for 2 to 4 hours until fully set; then slice and serve chilled.
Notes
Make sure to let each layer cool properly before adding the next layer for the best results.
Feel free to substitute with other fruit flavors of gelatin if desired.
This dessert can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
